Roger Muskee (Groningen, 1975) studied media-art at the fine art academy in Groningen; Academie Minerva.
Already during his study he performed as VJ and video artist around the world. In the meanwhile he co-started the vj-collective ‘Channel Zero’ (it’s artistic debut was at the first International Choreography Concours at the Stadsschouwburg Groningen in 2001 where he remixed live dance plays on the backdrop screen).
He is working with live visuals and video-art in stage design and created numerous video designs for fashion, dance and theatre. Among these are Toneelgroep Amsterdam, the Compagnietheater, Holland Festival and Fashion Week and he is the resident video designer for dance group Nanine Linning in Theater Heidelberg, Germany.
Next to this he creates video for special events such as the re-opening of the Groninger Museum, the Drents Museum and the Graphic Design Museum (GRID). Furthermore he creates television and videoproductions for Bright TV, Zembla (Vara), Noorderlicht, Amsterdam Fashion Week, Noorderzon Festival etc.
His work focuses on the human perspective and point of view; in context or contrast, abstract and natural. Often projected on architecture, organic shapes or costumes.
He is a partner at www.schwungvisuell.com, a motion graphic design company and at www.dejongensvanlucht.nl, training and coach. All of these are based in Groningen, the Netherlands.
